Bio

Celeste Ng was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1980 and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where the complexities of community and identity left a lasting mark on her worldview. She studied English at Harvard University and earned her MFA from the University of Michigan, where she honed her craft before publishing her first novel.

Ng’s work quickly gained critical acclaim for its emotional depth and insight into family dynamics. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation, and her novels have been published in more than thirty languages, establishing her as a defining voice in contemporary fiction.
